Public holiday rules in Czechia

The 13 distinct nationwide dates in 2027 are derived from sections 1–2 of Act No. 245/2000 and a checked calculation of Western Easter, not from a separately published official 2027 calendar. On 1 January, Restoration Day of the Independent Czech State is a state holiday and New Year is an other holiday on the same date; it counts as one day off. State and other holidays are non-working days under section 3; significant days under section 4 remain working days unless also a holiday. A weekend holiday does not automatically move to Monday. Holiday work and compensation depend on labour law and the work schedule. Retail sales restrictions apply only to specified holidays and generally stores over 200 square metres, with statutory exceptions and a separate Christmas Eve limit; they do not mean every shop or workplace closes.
