Assumption Day is a nationwide public holiday in San Marino on 15 August. It marks a summer break in the country’s calendar and coincides with a major Catholic feast.
About Assumption Day in San Marino
In San Marino, Assumption Day falls in the middle of August and is observed across the country as a public holiday. It sits on the Ferragosto period shared by much of southern Europe, so it is often treated as a seasonal pause in the calendar rather than a day with a large set of civic customs. For travellers and residents, the main practical significance is that it is a nationally recognised day off that comes during one of the year’s quietest holiday periods.
